The Japanese electronics corporation Panasonic launched a new smartphone Panasonic P75 that is affordable by people of all income groups.

The key highlight of this handset launched towards the middle of June 2016is that it supports quite a few decent features given that it comes with a very low price tag. Pankaj Rana, the Business Head of the Mobility Division of Panasonic India stated that the device supports turn by turn navigation that helps its users on the move. The sand black and champagne gold colored handsets offer useful features like gesture control, batch arranging and file manager. Apart from these, two preset functions incorporated in the gadget are Theme Club and Special Effects. The Theme Club supports various free themes to provide a new look to the unit each time it is used. On the other hand, the Special Effects function renders fascinating screen transition animations and magic finger effects. This article is intended to give you a glimpse of what you can avail from this dual SIM smartphone.

Dimensions, Weight and Body Material

Although the current trend is to opt for thin and lightweight handsets, the P75 is slightly thick and bulky when compared to many other thin and compact counterparts. The Panasonic device comes in a size of 127.3 x 66 x 9.65 mm and weighs 157g. Thus this slightly bulky gadget is not very light when held in your hand or put in your pocket. Yet, when it is considered as a standalone unit, the manufacturer’s offering is considerably lightweight. Like other mid-range smartphones in this price group, the Panasonic P75 comes encased in a plastic body.

Screen Size and Display, Pixel Resolution and Density

The 5-inch screen of the P75 uses an IPS LCD display with an aspect ratio of 16:9. The capacitive multi-touchscreen encompasses a pixel resolution of 1280 x 720 with a pixel density of 294ppi. Although the screen does not feature a scratch-resistant glass for its protection, the manufacturer has taken the effort to offer a free protective screen guard accessory along with the handset when you buy it to avoid damage to its screen. The wide viewing angles produced by the HD screen make it suitable for reading, gaming and watching movies.

Back and Front Cameras

The primary rear camera uses a CMOS sensor with dual LED flash. With the ability to record 30 fps videos, this 8MP shooter supports an image resolution of 3264 x 2448 and a video resolution of 1280 x 720. The Panasonic P75 does not do a bad job with respect to its front snapper as well. This secondary 5MP camera has an image resolution of 2560 x 1920 and produces satisfactory results when used for taking selfies and making video calls.

What is worth noting about the Panasonic P75 camera is its ability to support nine beauty modes and various photography options. Some of these photography options comprise child mode, watermark and pose mode.

Under the Hood Setup – Hardware, Operating System and Memory

Equipped with 1GB RAM, the Panasonic P75 utilizes a MediaTek MT6580 chipset, an ARM Cortex-A7 central processor unit and an ARM Mali-400 MP1 graphics processor. The central processor unit is actually a quad core processor, which clocks at 1.3GHz. In contrast, the graphics processor has only one core.

While Android’s Marshmallow 6.0 is already available on many smartphones and Android N 7.0 is on the way, the P75 still features an earlier version of the operating system – Android 5.1 Lollipop. This is interlaced with the manufacturer’s very own Sail UI to offer additional functionality that the operating system may not offer.

As with most 1GB handsets, the device comes with 8GB ROM as inbuilt storage. This can be increased by another 32GB with an external memory card.

Battery and Battery Life

The battery is another attention grabber of the Panasonic P75. Often, such a massive battery is found only in high-end gadgets. With a mammoth 5,000 mAh Li-Po non-removable battery, the manufacturer claims that the smartphone will offer 659 minutes of uninterrupted talk time. The huge capacity assures you of extensive gaming and browsing. Additionally, the optimized power management software ensures that you can use the handset for long hours without having to charge the handset in between. And since the screen is not really very large, the battery is not likely to drain very fast.
